Manuella Aturia – Uganda
Hi Everybody! I am contestant number 2, representing ‘The Pearl of Africa’, in the Miss Teen Africa pageant. In my free time I enjoy; dancing, trying extreme sports and travelling. Having moved from Uganda at the age of 2 years, I see this pageant as a chance to re-explore the rich and diverse cultures, fashion and music of Africa. I would love to encourage other girls of African descent: to celebrate and be proud of their heritage and to make the most of this amazing fusion of cultures that we have growing up as African British youth, this includes the benefit of a good education. Also, through workshops and forums we could discuss issues that we face and come up with formal ways to resolve or reduce them. This year I am beginning a BSc degree in Biomedical Science and with my interest in science, I was honoured to hear that Sickle Cell and Young Stroke Survivors is the charity that we are supporting. To be an ambassador for this great cause with the Miss Teen team, would be a great opportunity for me.
Overall I am glad that each day through new experiences, I am learning to be even more proud of who God has made me to be, and that is a girl of the African diaspora.
Please vote for me to be your Miss Teen Africa 2015, I appreciate your time and support!
