Miss Teen Africa UK Host their First Auditions at Greenwich Yacht Club

Miss Teen Africa UK held their first audition at the spectacular Greenwich Yacht Club on Sunday 26th March 2015, auditioning young women from different African origin on their tradition, knowledge of culture, etiquette etc. The evening commenced with the ladies demonstrating to the judges panel a one-minute presentation which allowed the young ladies to show their personalities and talents. The judges panel held Tamara Akotuah, radio presenter, Journalist student and Miss Ghana UK 2014 2RU, who is Miss Teen Africa UK’s Pageant Coach, Stephanie Umebuani professional actor and Miss Teen Africa UK Pageant Coordinator, Isha Sesay, Media Studies professional and BitichyOnlineUK lifestyle blogger, Shevorne Yeboah, Model and runway professional.

The event was a huge success as it allowed the young women a chance to socialise with one another as well as share any cultural similarities and personal experiences with one another before facing the judges. Accompanied by parents, family and friends the pageant not only appealed to our young women but also the families who attended as expressed in this following comment on the success of the day. “I feel like I am in my teens again, I took part in Miss Congo and won, a very long time ago. My advice to the girls is to be confident and walk with poise and elegance!” – Anonymous Applicant guardian.

Offering the young women games, refreshments, a chance to hear expertise advice from professionals, personal hair consultations and also a one to one chance to speak to our Fashion consultant and pageant Stylist Maame Benko, on what they hope to achieve in future. Miss Teen Africa UK aims to support the girls in all attributes including education, coaching the way they speak, communicate and also carry themselves. This is not the end of the success of Miss Teen Africa UK as a new date has already been announced May and one every month after till August, where they will narrow down and select the girls who have progressed to the next stage in order to begin rehearsals for the finals.
